Welcome to Blue Cat Studios

It’s called the San Antonio sound. And for more than 30 years, record producer and audio engineer Joe Trevino has stood at its intersection.

Trevino works his magic at Blue Cat Studio and all over the world the way the great ones always have, “Off the wood,” as he likes to say. It’s the way they made records at Stax, Muscle Shoals, Motown and at down-home ZAZ Studio on San San Antonio’s fabled West Side.

Simply put, his philosophy is to let the music breathe and create an atmosphere for artists to deliver at their best and most adventurous.

The Grammy-winning producer counts Smithsonian Folkways, National Medal of Arts winners Flaco Jimenez, Santiago Jimenez Jr., Los Lobos, the Mavericks, Texas Tornados, Los TexManiacs, Augie Meyers, The Krayolas, Pinata Protest, the West Side Horns and many others as clients and collaborators.
Trevino has placed hits on terrestrial radio, Top 40 and college stations, Sirius XM, National Public Radio, Little Stevens Underground Garage and the BBC.

Blue Cat Studios is located in the Southtown arts district within walking distance of The Pearl, the Tower of the Americas, the Alamodome, the River Walk and the downtown Broadway corridor.
